How to PlayGame flow and rules
Game Rules
- Both participants begin with 10,000 CR in fictional game credits.
- Choose a wager. The computer automatically matches it, and five cards are dealt to each side.
- The computer's cards remain hidden while the hand is in play.
- During each replacement round, replace exactly one card or choose Stand to keep your hand.
- You may use up to three replacement rounds. The computer independently decides whether to replace a card or stand.
- Standard poker hand rankings and complete kicker rules determine the winner.
- The winner receives the pot. An exact tie divides it evenly.
- Rounds continue until either participant runs out of credits.
The story
About AICOH
The original Change Of Hand gameplay concept was conceived by Susan Wolfe in the late 1980s. The concept modifies five-card draw by allowing the player to replace one card at a time, up to three times per hand.
AICOH—Artificial Intelligence Change Of Hand—was developed as a Windows desktop application by Stephen Wolfe / Wolfe1.com and has been redesigned for the browser. Its computer opponent uses a purpose-built, rule-based card strategy rather than machine learning.
